Sustainable Cities and Clean Beaches Awards – 2012 finalists announced

Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria (KABV) has announced the finalists of the 2012 Sustainable Cities and Clean Beaches Awards.

The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on Friday 27 July 2012 at the Olympic Room, Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Five cities, Brimbank, Boroondara, Casey, Frankston and Wyndham, will contest the title for Victorian Sustainable City of the Year. This award recognises the urban community that best represents the 11 awards categories, as well as community participation, cleanliness and presentation.

The awards recognise actions from all levels of the community – business, councils, local community groups, schools and individuals – and include community action, water conservation, energy efficiency, environmental innovation and protection, resource recovery and waste.

The overall winner will go on to represent Victoria at the Australian Sustainable City Awards. This city, along with the overall winning beach, will also feature in the 2013 Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria Awards promotional campaign.
