The NSW Government has submitted the first of their Water Resource Plans (WRPs) that is expected to assist with water management in the Murray-Darling Basin. The Plans are being assessed by the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.
Federal Minister for Resources, Water and Northern Australia, Keith Pitt said “These water resource plans are an integral part of the Basin Plan, and having them in place will provide certainty for water users.”
The Murray-Darling Basin Authority will now review the WRPs against the requirements of the Basin Plan, and advise Minister Pitt of the outcome as Commonwealth Minister.
