The Victorian Government is providing more than $11M in funding for maintenance and erosion management projects for Victoria’s coastline.
Victoria has more than 2,500 kilometres of coastline and about 10,000 square kilometres of marine waters. The funding is part of the Victorian Government’s $2.7 billion Building Works package.
Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio said the works will help to address the climate challenges of rising sea levels and coastal erosion.
In various parts of the state, coastal erosion has become quite significant.
