Clean Energy Regulator releases updated power station accreditation guidance

The Federal Clean Energy Regulator has released updated guidance on application requirements and eligibility criteria for power station accreditation, in anticipation of the upcoming release of the new Renewable Energy Certificate Registry (REC Registry) functionality.

The REC Registry is an online system allowing Renewable Energy Target (RET) participants to create, transfer and surrender renewable energy certificates.

The update consolidates guidance on the key requirements for power station accreditation and provides clarity in relation to information requirements for applications for accreditation, including:

The upgrades to the REC Registry relating to both large-scale generation certificate claims and applications for accreditation are currently being tested, but the Regulator is unable as yet to advise of a release date.
