FUNDING OPPORTUNITY – Energy efficiency grants for farmers

The Victorian Government has invited applications for on-farm assessments under the Government’s Agriculture Investment Energy Plan.

As part of the $30 million Plan, the on-farm assessments aim to help farmers better manage energy costs by providing advice and opportunities to improve efficiency, while investing in new technology.

The assessments are free for eligible primary producers and will be conducted by registered, independent experts, providing farmers with tailored advice on how to make energy decisions for their businesses.

Following completion of an assessment, farmers then become eligible for an energy grant. The grant program aims to support farmers implement recommended changes on-farm to improve energy efficiency and productivity.

A specialist independent advisory panel has also been announced, which is comprised of energy and agriculture experts who will provide advice on the design and implementation of the Agriculture Energy Investment Plan. The Plan is a partnership between Agriculture Victoria, primary producers, agricultural and educational groups.
