Waste to energy discussion paper – Released

The Victorian Government has released a discussion paper on converting waste to energy to support the development of new technologies, including anaerobic digestion and thermal treatment of waste.

The paper Turning Waste into Energy is intended to start a discussion about waste to energy facilities in Victoria, and seeks feedback and ideas from industry, government and the community. The consultation will inform the Government’s position on the appropriate role for waste to energy technologies in the state. The Government will then develop a position on waste to energy, intended to provide certainty for investors and communities about when waste to energy facilities will be a good fit for Victoria and when they won’t be.
