The Victorian Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has issued a $7,500 fine to a meat processing company for allowing offensive odours to be emitted beyond the boundaries of its site and impact on the local community.
The fine follows an odour survey conducted in the area by EPA to trace the odour source, after receiving a number of community complaints. The EPA Licence held by the site requires the site to ensure that no environmental impacts occurred as a result of operations, which includes the effective management of odorous emissions generated at the site.
