The Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio has announced the opening of the Sustainable Infrastructure Fund to increase the use of recycled materials in local infrastructure projects across Victoria.
Grants of up to $300,000 is open to local councils and alpine resort management boards to use recycled materials such as – glass, paper, cardboard, plastics and rubber to build new infrastructure including roads, footpaths, outdoor park equipment, drainages and cycleways.
The funding must be used to support the construction or installation of a new asset and/or renewal, expansion or upgrade of existing assets.
Assets can include but are not limited to:
? bridges
? buildings
? carparks
? cycleways
? drainage fixtures
? footpaths
? furniture and fittings for parks, open spaces and streetscapes
? roads.
Stages or components of projects that are currently underway are eligible, as long as the infrastructure has not been constructed before signing the funding agreement. Details are now available.
