EPA SA will pursue to recover clean-up costs, through the courts, for the removal of thousands of tonnes of illegally dumped hazardous waste that includes building materials and asbestos at two sites in Sedan, SA.
EPA SA released a statement advising “We are pleased to have been able to remove 248 truckloads of hazardous waste from the community, and will be doing everything in our power to recuperate the costs of this clean-up from the alleged offender.”
EPA SA has worked with contractors to return the site to its former status. This issue will now be dealt with through the SA court system.
