EPA SA has released the draft Dredge Guideline for comment and has also made available the Dredge guideline factsheet.
The purpose of this consultation is to ensure the guideline is practical, relevant and meets the needs of dredge licensees and other key stakeholders.
The guideline aims to deliver a number of benefits which include:
- Outlining information requirements for the assessment of development and licence applications and dredge management plans.
- Considering the risk and nature of the dredge campaign for assessing and regulating dredging activities.
- Increasing awareness of EPA expectations for managing environmental impacts from dredging.
- Providing a simplified process for routine maintenance dredge campaigns.
