The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) has upheld the Victorian Environment Protection Authority’s (EPA’s) works approval for Melbourne Regional Landfill (MRL) with varied conditions.
EPA Victoria has released a media statement welcoming the decision and advising that they will carefully review VCAT’s findings, its report and the new conditions in detail.
EPA Victoria also advises that they will liaise with other parts of government that have key roles in waste management infrastructure (Sustainability Victoria and the Metropolitan Waste Resource and Recovery Group).
