Australian Dangerous Goods Code Edition 7.5 (ADG 7.5) – Released

On 6 December 2016, Edition 7.5 of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code (ADG 7.5) was released.

It is imperative that all companies and their staff involved in the transporting of dangerous goods as well as all members of the supply chain understand and work to the requirements of ADG, including the consignor, packer, truck driver and dangerous goods transport companies…

The National Transport Commission advises that the updates include new rules governing the transport of dangerous goods in limited quantities to reduce the regulatory burden for business owners, increasing the placard limit from one to two tonnes for all limited quantities and introducing simpler documentation for household and personal care substances.

The Australian Dangerous Goods Code (ADG) is updated every two years as part of an ongoing strategy to align domestic land transport requirements with the United Nations’ recommendations for the safe transport of dangerous goods.

Edition 7.5 can be used from 1 March 2017 but must be implemented by 1 March 2008.

Please note:

From 1 January 2017, the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail 7.4 edition (ADG 7.4) MUST be implemented within your practices.
