The Clean Energy Regulator is moving key Emissions Reductions Fund forms online.
The switch to online crediting forms aims to significantly reduce administration burdens for both clients and the Clean Energy Regulator.
- From 29 June 2016, all businesses will need to submit their claim for Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU’s) online through the Client Portal. The new online form for crediting will replace both the project report and application for ACCU’s The new form will prompt the participant to provide the Clean Energy Regulator with all the information it requires to enable efficient and timely crediting of the abatement achieved in each reporting period.
The new form will pre-populate future reporting period forms with key information that you enter the first time. So if your locations and project activities remain the same, you will only have to enter the information once. This is expected to streamline your reporting in the future.
For businesses with large numbers of project locations, the new online form will also allow you to upload bulk information spreadsheets directly through the client portal. This bulk upload spreadsheet will be pre-populated with information the second time your report using the forms.
- From 29 June 2016, the Clean Energy Regulator will not accept the paper-based project report and application for ACCU’s form or project reports. For a limited period, the new online form will allow you to upload an electronic version of your traditional project report to support most questions in the form.
You will need access to the Client Portal to access the online form. If you do not already have Client Portal log in details, it is free and easy to register from the Client Portal.
- From September 2016 – The Clean Energy Regulator is also working on improvements to the current Emissions Reduction Fund project registration online form, scheduled to be available from September 2016. The updated registration form will more closely align with the new online crediting form.
