The Western Australian Government has gazetted amendments to the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Regulations 2008 (WARR Regulations) and the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Levy Regulations 2008 (WARR Levy Regulations). The amendments take effects from 1 July 2016.
The amendments to the WARR Levy Regulations aim to improve the accuracy of weight and volume estimations of waste received and disposed of to landfill and enable more accurate calculation of the landfill levy. The amendments to the WARR Regulations are consequential to amendments to the WARR Levy Regulations.
A new environmental standard for the Approved manner for estimating the volume or weight of waste received at and disposed of to landfills has also been released.
