New State of the Environment report – Released

The NSW EPA has released the State of the Environment 2015 report for NSW.

Prepared every three years, the NSW State of the Environment (SoE) reports on the status of key environmental issues facing New South Wales.

The reporting:

• assesses the status and condition of major environmental resources in NSW and examines environmental trends;

• describes the pressures that affect the environment and the responses to those pressures; and

• provides credible, robust, statewide environmental information for environmental policy makers and decision makers who manage the state’s natural resources, and the general community.

The SoE 2015 report presents 20 themes grouped under the two categories: ‘environmental drivers’ and ‘environmental resources’. Across the 20 themes the report rates 65 specific indicators for status, environmental trends, and information availability.

A State of the Environment Summary is also available.
