Applications are now open for Round 3 of the Green Army Programme.
The Federal Government’s Green Army Programme supports local environment and heritage conservation projects across the country.
Projects must have a clear environment or heritage conservation focus and offer participants valuable practical experience, while supporting a safe work environment.
A full list of eligible activities is provided in the Green Army Round 3 Project Guidelines. Projects must be delivered within 20-26 weeks and may involve activities such as restoring and protecting habitat, weeding, planting or cleaning up creeks and rivers.
Each project will receive a team of up to 9 Green Army participants, a team supervisor and approved project specific materials, such as seedlings, herbicide, mulch, matting and tree guards, in addition to the basic materials required to deliver a project. Cash funding will not be provided.
The Federal Government has provided $525 million for the programme over 4 years from 1 July 2014.
Community organisations, environment groups, Indigenous organisations, local councils and others are encouraged to apply for projects in their region.
To be eligible for this round, projects must be ready to commence between 1 June 2015 and 30 June 2016.

Forward applications to the Federal Department of the Environment no later than 2:00pm AEDT, 17 March 2015 by using the application form
