New CEO for CSIRO

CSIRO Board Chairman, Simon McKeon has announced Dr Larry Marshall as the incoming CEO for CSIRO. Dr Marshall will commence in the role in January 2015 as Megan Clark steps down after 6 years in the role.

Dr Marshall is the Managing Director of Southern Cross Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, Shanghai and Sydney, specialising in growing Australian technology companies in Asia and US.

Dr Marshall began his career as an engineer with a PhD in Physics and published over 100 publications.

He founded and/or was CEO of Light Solutions, Iridex (Nasdaq:IRIX), Iriderm, Lightbit, Translucent, AOC, Arasor (ASX: ARR), and the Renewable Energy Fund; driving two of them to successful IPOs.
