EPA SA releases corporate plan

EPA SA will focus on five key areas over the next 12 months, as outlined in the organisation’s Corporate Plan 2014-15 . Capturing environmental information and knowledge to better understand the environment, and monitoring industry activity to ensure compliance with EPA policies and regulations are key areas in the plan. EPA chief executive Tony Circelli said the corporate plan maintains the EPA’s focus on managing the environmental harms faced by the state, as well as safeguarding precious resources. “It also recognises the contribution that well-practised regulation makes towards our economic competitiveness and overall prosperity, while ensuring that we meet our current needs but do not compromise those of future generations,” he said. The EPA will also undertake a number of initiatives to ensure the effectiveness of its regulation through monitoring programs, risk-based interventions and strong enforcement. This work is set out in further detail in the supporting Annual Compliance Plan 2014–15.
