A new STP is required to cater for a design load of 12,500 EP expandable to an ultimate load of 16,000 EP and effluent quality requirements to meet reuse and discharge standards. The proposed scheme will generally comprise of an intermittently decanted extended aeration (IDEA) type plant configured to meet EPA’s “Accepted Modern Technology Standard” (Sensitive Waters Standard).
