JOB DESCRIPTION:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Junior Category Manager to join Orora Limited’s Procurement and Supply Chain team, based at our Global Head-Office in Hawthorn, reporting to the General Manager – Procurement.

This role presents an excellent development opportunity for an enthusiastic, high performing Procurement Analyst who has some category management experience, and who has strong analytical skills, coupled with well-developed commercial acumen and the ability to communicate with people across multiple facets of the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide project management support to Category Managers and General Manager (GM), by managing the communication process with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct sourcing projects and negotiations for small spend categories
  • Manage small spend categories including but not limited to managing supplier performance, spend compliance, issues resolution, continuous improvement initiatives and opportunity analysis as development platform to become a Category Manager
  • Provide support in the analysis of complex bid award scenarios and follow up with additional negotiation support as required
  • Support Procurement leadership and team members in all data and analysis requests
  • Establish and maintain communication channels with leadership teams, key team members, and internal business units for data gathering/analysis and to support their business requirements
  • Use analytical techniques to support sourcing and procurement projects

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline
  • Strong, demonstrated Business and Commercial acumen, with experience with – Procurement Process; Vendor Management; Sourcing cycles
  • Exposure to contract law and best cost country sourcing will be an advantage
  • Intermediate-Level experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and E-Procurement systems
  • Strong organisation, verbal/written communication and report writing skills
  • Experience in benchmarking and market analytics
