New step taken in ‘one-stop shop’ for environmental approvals.

The Queensland and Federal Governments have finalised a new agreement on environmental assessments they claim will streamline the process. QLD Premier Campbell Newman says the agreement will see a single assessment process introduced, which incorporates State and Federal requirements under a ‘one stop shop’ umbrella.
“This agreement will establish one assessment process that incorporates State and Federal requirements to ensure proponents meet the national environmental standards right off the bat,” he said.
