Amendments to Product Stewardship (TVs and Computers) Regulations 2011

There have been minor amendments made to the Product Stewardship (Televisions and Computers) Regulations 2011.

These amendments came into effect on 20 June 2012 and are relevant to recycling targets in 2012-13.

“In summary, the amendments:

  • align product codes and descriptions in the Regulations with the updated Combined Australian Customs Tariff Nomenclature and Statistical Classification
  • make some consequential changes, including to insert ‘conversion factors’ for the new product codes
  • make some minor, technical amendments to align the target provisions of the Regulations with the policy intent.”

To assist stakeholders and liable parties, the following additional information is now available:

  • Guide for Local Government
  • The Role of Recyclers in the Scheme
  • Liable Parties
  • Co-regulatory Arrangements

  • Conversion Factors.

The amendments were made following consultation on an exposure draft, between 26 April 2012 and 17 May 2012, where no submissions were received by the Federal Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities.
